Perhaps no one ever doubted that the new ad for Vera Wang’s “Lovestruck” perfume would be just fantastic, romantic and full of love, as the name of the fragrance itself suggests. It’s like a refreshed version of Shakespearean story of Romeo and Juliet. And what is needed to get such a dreamy scenario? Just a lovely girl and a boy, flowers and a balcony and the scene of an eternal love is ready! And the scene for the Vera Wang’s “Lovestruck” perfume ad was organized thanks to a New York City fire escape, a handsome boy and the lovely actress Leighton Meester, who was wearing a fantastic Vera Wang burgundy gown.

The 25-year-old “Gossip Girl” looks stunning in that alluring gown, even though it was extremely cold outside that day on Mercer Street in SoHo. She was the only one freezing in that gown on such a cold winter day, while others felt quite comfy and cozy in their jackets and parkas. “Everyone else was in three parkas and Leighton is standing there in a strapless evening dress with a very thin fabric,” said Wang.
The scene captured all the passer-by’s attention. Vera Wang stated: “When I heard tourists saying, ‘I want to look like her,’ I knew we were right on the money. There’s nothing like the real client in the street, and I mean the street literally — and in windows literally.”
Despite this sever cold, Leighton experienced many funny moments during the shooting. “I was above it all, literally. So I was just kind of entertaining myself — I did a little singing, did a little dance,” Leighton told WWD.
For this advertisement Leighton signed a two year contract worth of $3 million. As for their selection of Leighton, Vera Wang said: “Meester’s beauty, talent, and spirit will inspire all the young women that I hope will enjoy this passionate, new young fragrance.”

The creative director of the campaign was Trey Laird and Carter Smith was behind the camera. “Lovestruck” will be launched in the UK on June 5, and in August in the U.S.
Vera Wang describes the “Lovestruck” the following way: “It’s all about being overwhelmed, inexplicably, hopelessly in love. Allowing yourself to feel passion inspite of yourself, the situation, the repercussions. A new definition of Romeo and Juliet! Sexy, sensual, and unstoppable!”
All that is left is just to wait for this new wonderful fragrance to appear in the market and get a new fresh scent.
