Acne Dresses Up Adorable Dogs In Its Spring 2013 Collection

We already pointed out that animals are playing a huge part in fashion right now. Whether models are walking the runway in animal print ensembles or actual animals are scurrying down the catwalk, it seems like everyone in the fashion industry is drawing inspiration from their furry friends. Now, we have even more proof that fashion has gone to the dogs…literally!

William Wegman, who’s best known for photographing his Weimaraner dogs, teamed up with Acne for an adorable ad campaign featuring the canines. Wegman dressed up the pooches in apparel and accessories from the brand’s Spring 2013 and Resort 2013 collections to shoot a series of 7 photos. The dogs stayed in place on pedestals and boxes long enough to be captured calmly wearing the brand’s hats, shoes, and printed suits.

Jonny Johansson, the creative director of Acne, said that he’s “a big fan of William Wegman’s work, its beauty, witty humor, and intelligence, but also what it says about identity and culture.” While he always thought that collaborating with Wegman on a project would be interesting, it turned out much better than he ever imagined. “The outcome is beyond all expectation,” Johansson stated.

Check out the behind-the-scenes video to see how Wegman photographed the dogs, then see the 7 photos from the campaign that resulted from the shoot!
