Macklemore & Ryan Lewis shot to fame with their hit song “Thrift Shop,” but now the talented duo is teaming up with an unlikely collaborator for their next project – Nordstrom Weddings!
To promote the latest styles from their bridal collection, the retailer’s bridal division enlisted the help of the hip-hop pair to create a video entitled “The Ultimate Wedding Party.” Set to the infectious dance jam “And We Danced” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, the video was inspired by “that moment at a wedding” after the ceremony when everyone “is on the dance floor getting down.” Nordstrom loves the energy and joy emanating from the dance floor during that part of a wedding reception, so they did their best to capture that feeling by bringing “the best wedding dance party to life” with this video.
Starring in the video are Nordstrom employees, including married couples, brides-to-be, and single men and women, decked out in bridal gowns and bridesmaids’ dresses from the company’s Wedding Suites. To show their support for marriage equality, the company also made a point to showcase both straight couples and same-sex couples in the clip. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are huge proponents of gay rights too, which makes them and their song an even better fit for the video.
Macklemore will soon be planning his own nuptials to fiancée Tricia Davis. We imagine the dance party at his wedding will be something like the one that takes place in the video, but on a much larger scale. Plus, he might pick a tux from a thrift shop over one from Nordstrom!
Watch the video below and let us know if you think Nordstrom accurately captured the “Best. Day. Ever.” with their high-energy wedding dance segment!
