Discount retailers aren’t usually the first stop for a shopper looking for great designer pieces, but with the proliferation of collaborations happening right now, plenty of designers are bringing their clothes to consumers at much lower price points than what their traditional collections sell for.

Narciso Rodriguez’s new workwear collection for Kohl’s helps prove that affordable clothing can be just as innovative and fashionable as what’s found in high-end boutiques. Rodriguez is the first designer to take part in Kohl’s new collaboration program, Design Nation. The idea behind the program is that a designer travels to a city of their choice to seek inspiration for a month-long collection for the retailer. The goal is to produce pieces that reflect the designer’s aesthetic as well as the personality of the city. Rodriguez made his excitement for the opportunity clear when it was first revealed that he would have the chance to take part. He believes “a designer’s mission is to dress as many people as possible,” so he’s always looking for way “to reach and touch people’s lives” with his work.

Narciso will definitely accomplish this goal with his wearable designs. His inspiration for the collection came from his travels around Istanbul, made evident through bright colors and unique patterns. The colorblocking, sleek dresses, draped coats, and tuxedo stripe pants that look as comfortable as pajamas are guaranteed to keep anyone looking great from 9 to 5 and as late into the night as they want!

The pieces range in price from $30 to $150, but the collection doesn’t hit Kohl’s stores until November 7. Check out the collection below to plan out what you’ll want now as these styles are sure to fly off the racks quickly!
