Ireland Baldwin, the 17-year-old model daughter of Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin, features inside the September 2013 issue of Elle (covered by Kate Upton, read about it here). Posing like a pro for an editorial featured inside the issue, the famous celebrity offspring also has plenty to say and seems straight to the point and candid as she opens up for the magazine. Speaking on her mother Kim Basinger, Ireland revealed that her mother believed it was a great idea for her to become a model and build some confidence because Ireland never considered herself beautiful:
“She thought it would be good for my confidence because I never really thought of myself as a pretty girl.”
On her mother managing to defy age, Ireland says Kim’s body is “scary” because it is so similar to her own:
“She looks like she’s my age. Her body, I swear, it’s scary.”
Speaking on the topic of stardom, Ireland hints that she isn’t interested in being a model forever and might follow in her parents footsteps in to the limelight. She also comments that even if she gets to that point, she won’t ever treat anyone like they’re beneath her:
“Even when I get to the point where I’m acting and performing, where I want to be with my career, I’m never going to think of anyone as lower than me. Everyone’s the celebrity of their own life, you know?”
