Director Sofia Coppola and designer Marc Jacobs have been close friends for as long as we can remember (they go way back!) and although they’ve collaborated on various projects together in the past, this is the first time the designer has enlisted Coppola to step behind the camera for him – we’re surprised it hasn’t happened before! Sofia has directed a new short but sweet tv campaign for the popular ‘Daisy’ fragrance and it stars rising American model Ondria Hardin, who has already been the face of Chanel previously.

Looking somewhat like a homage to her previous film ‘The Virgin Suicides’, Sofia has directed a soft, feminine look that suits the fragrance perfectly. Ondria breezes through an open green field with daisies in her hand while wearing a pretty white dress, ending the film as she dreamily lays down to soak up the sun. The campaign has an authentic, raw vibe which coordinates with the usual Jacobs campaign aesthetic that photographer Juergen Teller is most often responsible for.

We can only hope that this dream collaboration might repeat itself with another campaign video in the future – watch this space!
