Net-a-Porter are hoping to jump on the popular ‘Hunger Games‘ bandwagon and are releasing a line of clothing inspired by the films, which is frankly a pretty random move! ‘Capitol Couture’ is designed by Trish Summerville and the new collection is set to launch shortly on Net-a-Porter’s website – 19 pieces including “laser-cut leather, streamlined silhouettes and dramatic eveningwear” which sounds promising. Some preview images have already been unveiled.
The designs so far include a figure-hugging black mini-dress, grey ‘love’ print t-shirt, a black leather jacket, a black cut-out jumpsuit and a ‘love’ tag necklace. The pieces will be priced between £60 and £800 when they go on sale on November 21st. Holli Rogers, Net-a-Porter’s fashion director, said about the line:
“Our customers take their style cues from myriad sources, from the latest runway shows and street trends to TV and film. Fashion plays an important role in The Hunger Games series and is especially prevalent in Catching Fire, and fans of the franchise will see the film reference in the collection. The collection stands on its own two feet. It has been inspired by the film but the pieces are accessible and they work.”
