The beautiful Spanish actress Penelope Cruz has been in the center of attention recently. First she was on the cover of the Vogue Us, and now she covers the UK edition of the GQ magazine, where she talks about her career, motherhood and her experience, while working on the set of the “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” movie. The stunning 37-year-old actress poses in a series of glamorous and fabulous photos, revealing her seductive, sophisticated and refined character.
It wasn’t a great surprise that the subject of the “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” movie was covered in the interview, as after all the premiere of the film will take place just in a few days. Penelope expresses her great excitement for working in this fantastic and super successful project:
“Rob and I were eating together and he turned to me and said, ‘I have this question to ask you but I don’t know if I’m brave enough to ask as you may say ‘No’. ‘Well Rob, you have to ask me,’ I said. And he turned and asked, ‘Would you like to do ‘Pirates’ with me and Johnny?’ I heard this and screamed. A very good scream. I really love Rob and have longed to work with him again. I want to kiss his feet.”
Rob Marshall, who is the movie director, is a close person to Penelope’s heart, however she also appreciates her great friendship with Johnny Depp, and it was a double pleasure to work with them two: “Johnny is a great friend, so genuine and unique. My memories of ‘Blow’. Wow that was such an extreme period. It was a wild set, very rock ‘n’ roll. I had missed working with him.”
The theme of the “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” led to Penelope’s first experiences as an actress: “When I started, when I was 16 or 17, I never even considered not doing a project. I just wanted to work. I knew who some of those I would work with would be pleasant, and others would be these huge a–holes.” However, things have greatly improved since then: “But now, if there’s one thing I can afford to do, having worked so hard for all of these years, it’s that if I go into a meeting with someone that is offering me a movie and I can clearly see they are going to be an a–hole, I will not do the movie. No matter what it is.”
Besides her great success in her career, the beautiful actress has had one more life changing event recently, which is the birth of her son, Leo. The experience of motherhood has taught a lot to Penelope and she began to appreciate wisdom more: “Everybody tells you things change. And then all those cliches, all those things you hear about having a baby and motherhood – all of them are true. And all of them are the most beautiful things you will ever experience. So yes, your priorities change. It’s from the second you see that little face, your life has changed forever.”
