Actress Zooey Deschanel has always been known for her original take on style and now she plans to bring her own fashion sense to a new clothing collection designed in collaboration with American fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger. Named ‘To Tommy, From Zooey’, the new fashion line will go on sale at Macy’s and Tommy Hilfiger stores from April this year. Inspired by a classic American theme, Zooey’s designs also have a retro vibe – taking inspiration from classic Hollywood starlets – which stays true to her own sense of style. She commented on her ideas:
“I am a fashion fanatic and I am always looking for new ways to incorporate vintage, feminine pieces into my own wardrobe. Tommy and I share many of the same inspirations — old school music, classic films and old Hollywood icons — and his guidance during the design process helped to put a really unique twist on each piece.”
Tommy appears equally as charmed by Zooey, commenting that she has a great sense of humor and reminds her of Jackie O because of how effortlessly chic she always appears:
‘She reminds me of Audrey Hepburn for her sense of humor. At the same time, she has a Jackie O type of chicness to her.’
Zooey will appear in the campaign for the new line which was captured by photographer Carter Smith. The designs will be reasonably priced with all pieces priced under the $200 mark – watch this space for further images before the official launch date!
