Ever wondered what a typical – or not so typical – day is like for fashion’s finest designers and creatives? From catwalk castings, creating collections, arguments with taxi drivers and jet-setting all over the place, VOGUE.COM caught up with them to find out exactly what a day in their life is really like – spilling the stylish and sartorial beans throughout the month of April. Today, Beatrix Ong.

“Since arriving back from holiday in the New Year, it’s been pretty full-on:
30 I do a bit of yoga as I’m determined to keep my holiday exercise routine for as long as I can. On my way out I make my daily smoothie with vitamin supplements, minerals and probiotics.
45 Have a team meeting to catch up on what everyone is working on in retail, wholesale and PR. There is a lot happening in the next three months – our collaboration with Dover Street Market and the opening of our space in Knightsbridge.
45 I check my emails. I don’t have a remote email device (on purpose). I speak to my product developer in Italy – our production is on time and the new limited edition boxes by Neal Murren look amazing and I’m really happy with them. I start putting together my ideas for spring/summer 2010 – my ideas are still small scribbles in my sketch book and on random bits of paper. I also start researching for a few ideas for new projects.
00 We are expecting our new autumn/winter 2009-10 samples in a couple of days so I have a meeting with a stylist to discuss the new season’s shots, which involves the English National Ballet. I’m really excited about working with them as I’m a huge fan.
30 Have an early lunch at my desk – a selection of sushi from The Japan Centre which is conveniently down the road.
00 Have a meeting with Nike on the new project we’re working on for summer 2009.
00 Have a meeting with my accountant and finance director.
30 Make my way to Knightsbridge to have a meeting with the retail and visual merchandising team there on our new retail space on Brompton Road.
00 I brief my assistant on some of the research I’ll need for the new projects I’m working on and update my diary for the week.
30 Dinner with Harold Tillman and Belinda Earl at the Notting Hill Brasserie.
30 It’s Lisa Moorish’s birthday at the Met Bar, so my night carries on!” – Beatrix Ong
