Kanye West’s collaboration collection with A.P.C. hit the label’s online store yesterday and whatever they had available instantly sold out, crashing their website in the process. Thankfully, those who missed out still have a chance to buy – the collection is expected to return to the stores when a second shipment of the collection arrives. Priced between $120 – $280, the collection was made up of well-crafted basics: a plain white t-shirt, navy hoodie and simple blue jeans were just three of the simple designs on offer. Despite how rudimentary the pieces were, designer Jean Touitou explained that Kanye was still very difficult to work with because of how perfect everything had to be:

“When you deal with a guy who wants to redesign just about anything so it could fit [into the] kingdom of dopeness, it takes some time to just sit and say, ‘Okay, agreed, but let’s get start on something limited, and we’ll see, I just love the guy, so whatever, he could want a piece to be baggy and skinny at the same time… [but] oh well, you just find a way.”

He added that working with West was quite the achievement:

“When we finally finished this collection, I felt like, Okay, if I made this happen, then I can achieve peace in the Middle East.”
