British male model David Gandy is launching his first underwear collection in collaboration with Marks & Spencer.  David has frequently worked for the company, appearing in various campaigns already, so moving in to design was “natural” according to the model. He commented that it was a perfect fit:

”We’ve been working closely for a few years, so it felt like a natural progression to collaborate with them on my own range. Partnering with a great British brand like M&S felt the perfect fit right now.”

Speaking on working with the company throughout the process, David says he wanted to make sure the pieces were to his liking and he had a particular idea in mind:

”I’ve genuinely enjoyed every part of the process and feel proud of the results. I wanted to combine quality of fabrics, good design and fit, and an element of style with each piece to form the basic essentials for the range.”

The model comments that he has been enjoying branching out in to new areas with his career but still loves modelling:

”I still enjoy modelling and that has given me various opportunities to explore other things too – it will always be at the heart of whatever I do.”

He adds that he has been very involved in the entire process:

”I have to be honest, from sketching designs, choosing the fabrics, adding personal touches and even down to the packaging, I’ve been really involved and thoroughly enjoyed it. I’d love to do more if the opportunity came along.”

David Gandy’s collection for Autograph will land in stores on September 18th this year.
