When debuting her new Autumn/Winter 2014 collection, Victoria Beckham surprised by inviting her whole family – husband David, sons Brooklyn, Cruz and Romeo and daughter Harper – to sit front row and view the new collection. Explaining why this season she made the event a family affair, Victoria stated that she wanted her kids to get a firsthand look at what she does because she believes that sends them a positive message:
“You make me sound a lot better than I am. I just wanted them to see what I do – the boys have never been to a show before. For them to see that mummy works and daddy works is a very positive message.”
As usual, Victoria’s collection was flawlessly designed with a sophisticated design signature. Oversized jackets, minimal dresses and fine tailoring were on display and Victoria revealed that she decided not to include her signature Victoria Beckham dress this time around. However, fans of her classic item don’t need to be disappointed as it will still be for sale when the collection hits stores:
“I didn’t put the signature Victoria Beckham dress on the catwalk this time, but it’s there in the selling collection. It’s still a great dress.”
Critics have lauded Victoria’s efforts this season, claiming the now 40-year-old designer has hit her stride and found her niche in the design world. She has also been credited for taking her designs in a mature, grown-up direction that is timelessly fashionable and stylish, much like her own personal sense of style.
