If you are looking for a new hairstyle then sometimes you want more than a new cut and only a new colour will do. There has also been a surprising new trend on both the catwalks and on celebs- candy colours.

Vivid brights to candy pinks were seen everywhere. At the Narciso Rodriguez spring/summer 2012 catwalk show Eugene Souleiman used shades of neon orange, turquoise, yellow and white, while Thakoon went for bright blues and oranges on their models for their spring/summer show and Marchesa had loose dip-dyed raspberry locks.

But it’s not just the catwalks where unusual hair colours have been spotted: the celebs have also been embracing the trend and there is one colour above all that has been popular – pink. Fearne Cotton, Sarah Harding, Diana Agron were all seen with candy pink hair recently.

But it is not just pink that you could go for; Pixie Geldof has been seen with green hair recently while Kelly Osbourne has been seen with lilac hair and Kate Bosworth has been sporting dip dyed blue hair. Ghd ambassador Katy Perry has gone from brown hair to blonde hair to pink and now blue!

However, if you want to go for the plunge and go for candy coloured hair you need to make sure your hair is in the best condition at all times. Therefore, it is all about the haircare in order to keep your hair in tip top condition. Pastel shades also fade very quickly so invest in professional hair products to stop it fading too quickly. You should also invest in the best quality hair styling tools like ghd hair straighteners. The smooth ceramic plates mean that they are better for your hair then other straighteners so will keep your hair in good condition. The styler is also really versatile so you can use it to create a number of looks from straight and sleek to bouncy curls and waves.
