Katy Perry has always been known for her over-the-top manicures, many which feature crazy prints, colours or embellishments – so why hasn’t she launched her own nail polish line yet? The star says it has actually been on the top of her ‘to do’ list for quite some time but she’s still ironing out the details to make the collection work. The singer explained:

”I’ve always wanted to venture into nails, but… it hasn’t worked out just right just yet. But I love to show my personality off, whether it’s in the lip color or nail bed. It’s just like, God is in the details, so I like the little things to be detailed.”

Katy also just announced that she’s releasing a new scent, Killer Queen’s Royal Revolution, which will launch on July 23 this year. Opening up on creating the new perfume, Katy explains that she learned about then entire process of fragrance creation and found the experience interesting:

”[The fragrances] take up a lot of time, but they’re a very pleasurable experience. They’re very creative, it’s not like I just get handed something. We all kind of dream this up together. I’m very curious – whenever I do something, I want to know about the whole process, how it happens – do you take those flowers [in the fragrance] and just steam the oil out? How does that happen, how do you get there?”

Commenting on where she is currently sourcing her style inspiration from, Katy explains she has a few muses:

”I like Liz Taylor, and I love the spontaneous excitement of Daphne Guinness and the punk rock…of ChloĆ« Sevigny.”
